Meanwhile, the young students are flowing into the city, taking up residence in the dorms, dealing with the prospect of virtual classrooms, and they can't have the pleasure of the excitement and beauty of downtown Madison. They don't even get the colorful murals that dressed up the damage a couple months ago. No, we've got new plywood now, blankly expressive of what has really happened — mindless destruction.
