Random Attack on Joe Rogan of the Day.

From WaPo's regular "Date Lab" feature, an episode titled "Her roommate says her type is ‘generic.’" This was all going along very blandly sweetly until the attack on Joe Rogan sprang up:
“Every time I talk to my roommate, she says that my taste is so ‘generic,’ ” Fiona [Forrester, 23,] recalled, clarifying, “generic and boring.”...
Her No. 1 priority is just finding a “nice person.” She favors “outdoorsy” guys, she said, who “are a bit more quiet. Like a mix between Jim from ‘The Office’ and Tom Holland in ‘Spider-Man.’ ”...
"[A] big no for me [is] if someone is impolite to anyone,” she said. Then she added, “Podcasts come up quite a lot in conversations and I feel like so many guys will ask me what I like and I’ll tell them a podcast and they’ll say they just listen to Joe Rogan.”
Following the media personality is a red flag for her, as everything she’s learned about him is “some wacky stuff.”

They match her with some bland, nice guy, and it turns out "He is a Joe Rogan fan." ("But he did say he listens to other things as well.") We're not told how the "red flag" played out. How do "red flags" work these days? I know it's become part of ordinary relationship talk, but I don't know if "red flag" means "stop" (i.e., that's it, we're over) or just keep looking out for other "red flags" and at some point you've got to think about walking away.

In the actual "Date Lab" encounter, she rejects him, not because of Joe Rogan, but because she didn't feel "that chemistry, sparks, romantic-y vibe." I guess that's the polite way to say he wasn't sexy enough.

The top-rated comment over there — by someone with a masculine name (MichaelSL) — is:

“He is a Joe Rogan fan.”

If I happened to be a bright, attractive and friendly young woman, you couldn't find a bigger sledge hammer than that to clobber any thoughts of a potential relationship.

Ironically, for me sudden jabbering about big clobbering sledgehammers is a turn off. Why the violent imagery at the mention of Joe Rogan? And why are you purporting to say what women think? And why, when you purport to say what women think, do you appropriate the persona of a "bright, attractive and friendly young" woman? I've had it with your lookism, ageism, brightism, and amiabilism.
