* 'What everyone recognizes is there's no military resolution to the conflict,' Blinken said Sunday morning 

* Backing comes as Pentagon officials and the intelligence community expressed concerns over the withdraw coming too soon and potential Taliban retaliation 

* National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, who has been hesitant to back the move, also defended his boss' decision on Sunday 'President Biden has no intention of sending forces back to Afghanistan but at the same time, he has no intention of taking our eye off the ball,' he told CNN

 * Added a warning: 'I can't make any guarantees about what will happen inside the country. No one can' 

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken defended President Joe Biden's decision to completely withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan despite pushback from the Pentagon and intelligence community.

'What everyone recognizes is there's no military resolution to the conflict,' Blinken told ABC News' 'This Week' on Sunday morning. 

'So if they start something up again, they're going to be in a long war that's not in their interest,' he continued in reference to concerns the Taliban is planning to immediately topple the Afghan government after the U.S. exists.
