Washington Examiner: Pentagon argues ‘hundreds of billions of dollars’ and national security at risk if FCC decision not overturned
Top Department of Defense officials appeared in person before the Senate Armed Services Committee Wednesday to call on the FCC to reverse its unanimous decision to allow the communications company Ligado to set up a 5G network that would disrupt GPS use by the military.
“We don’t want the warfighter to have to call an 800 number to report interference,” said Gen. Jay Raymond, Commander of U.S. Space Command, describing what the FCC prescribes as a solution if a GPS system used in a tank, airplane, or weapon fails.

WNU Editor: The Pentagon is very sure of itself that this decision to deploy this new 5G cellular network will use a spectrum that could potentially disrupt frequencies used for commercial and military Global Positioning System (GPS) signals. Apparently it would cost hundreds of billions to correct. On a side note. The sponsors and supporters for this FCC decision must have known this decision would cause a firestorm of protest. It was done this weekend at night with everyone's attention on the pandemic.
